Nowadays, you don’t have to wait for pregnancy signs to find out if you are pregnant or not because you now have the most handy way to find out the truth – the pregnancy test. There are two types of pregnancy tests: blood tests which can be taken only on a clinic and urine tests which can be taken at home. The intimacy they can offer is the first reason for which home tests are the most chosen ones. Other reasons could also be their lower price and their important features: 99% accuracy (most of them), easy to use, easy to read etc.
Although the interpreting of a home pregnancy test’s result is explained in the test instructions, a frequent question still remains: When is a home pregnancy test negative? – and that could be because of a confused formulation of the explanation.
Most of the home pregnancy tests indicate their results using the lines purport; usually if you see in the results window a single line – you are not pregnant, but if a second line appears – then you are pregnant indeed. This is a type of interpreting for normal pregnancy tests, but digital pregnancy tests were invented too – those use a different way of reading the results: they have a results window where you can see your test result expressed in words: Pregnant or Not Pregnant.
Unfortunately there is the possibility to get a false negative result too, therefore another frequent question is: “When is a home pregnancy test negative a false one?” This is a good question and it’s important to know the answer before you take the test because you could avoid being mislead.
Firstly, a false negative result could be the consequence of taking the test too early. For example, if you are taking it in the first 6 days after ovulation you will surely get a negative answer, which could be a false one. That’s because these tests work by detecting the hCG in a woman’s body, hormone which is produced by placenta only after the implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterine wall (and this does not occur until 6 days after ovulation).
Other possible reasons for a home pregnancy test negative to be a false one could be those regarding the way of taking it. It’s very important to be careful and to follow exactly the test instructions so you can avoid some possible mistakes which can lead to a false result; for example if you read the test result too late, after the “reaction time”, it is possible that the second line(which should show if you are pregnant) to have already evaporated – therefore all you get may be a false negative answer.
As a conclusion, the question :”When is a home pregnancy test negative?” can have two possible answers, which are very simple: 1 – when you get a single line in the results window – for normal tests, and 2. when you get the answer Not Pregnant – for the digital ones.
