When can you get an accurate pregnancy test?

A pregnancy is very important for any woman, therefore most women want to find out if they’reĀ  pregnant or not as early as possible; for that, they have to use a very accurate method which can give them the correct result. Most women choose as the best method the pregnancy tests, which are of 2 types: blood tests, which can be taken only in a clinic and urine tests – which can be taken even home, therefore they are also called home pregnancy tests. The last ones are the most chosen, not only because they can offer them the needed intimacy for finding out if they are pregnant or not, but also because they are cheaper and they have some very important features: a very high accuracy level, easy to use, easy to read, fast results etc.

As they have very detailed instructions, the most frequent questions are not regarding the way of taking the test or of reading its result, but regarding the moment you can take it so it could be an accurate one. The answer is not complicated, especially because all doctors recommend a certain moment of taking it and, more than that, almost all tests indicate a proper moment as well. So if you want to get the most accurate pregnancy test you can follow the doctors recommendation and take it 2 weeks after the moment you think you have conceived or you can follow the test’s directions and take it the day you have missed your period (if you are in such a situation).

Those recommendations are for the most accurate result, but most of you are probably wondering about the absolute earliest moment you can get an accurate pregnancy test. This answer is a little more complicated, but if you know how these tests work you will surely understand when could this moment be. First of all, these tests are working by a simple principle: they have to detect the presence and levels of hCG in a woman’s body, hormone which only appears when she gets pregnant. The pregnancy hormone is produced by the placenta only after the implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterine wall and that, from biological reasons, does not occur until 6 days after ovulation; so it’s useless to take a test before thatĀ  because it won’t detect any hCG (as there is no hCG yet) and it will give you a negative result, even if you are pregnant.

So we can conclude that the earliest moment you can get an accurate pregnancy test is the 7′th day after the moment you think you have conceived, but for for the most accurate one you should take it 2 weeks after the possible pregnancy or the day you have missed your period.
