The earliest moment to take a pregnancy test

Most women are very anxious to find out the truth about a possible pregnancy, irrespective of their pregnancy signs. Most of them decide to investigate if they are pregnant or not when their period’s late or missing, but there are also many who decide to investigate although they don’t have any sign. Fortunately, they now have the possibility to find out the truth using a home pregnancy test which is cheaper than the clinic one and lets them detect a possible pregnancy in the privacy of their own home.

Of course, considering their general curiosity, all of them want to find out if they are pregnant or not as early as possible, no matter what they really wish(if they would like a positive or a negative one). Therefore, the most frequent question is: Which is the earliest moment to take a pregnancy test? (meaning the earliest moment to take a test and get an accurate result).

First of all, the earliest moment is not an established and general one because every woman has a different system which acts differently. For a better understanding, you should know how these home pregnancy tests work: they have to detect the presence and levels of hCG (the pregnancy hormone) in a woman’s body using her urine. This hormone appears in a woman’s body only if she is pregnant (or if she is taking medication which contains it). It is produced by the placenta beyond the implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterine wall, which, from biological causes, occurs at least 6 days after ovulation. So, as there is no hCG in your body to be detected in those 6 days, it’s useless to take a pregnancy test because it will give you a negative result even if you are pregnant (that means an inaccurate one).

Considering the above mentioned information, we can conclude that, irrespective of your desire, you can’t get an accurate result earlier than 6 days after ovulation. Starting with the next day (that means the 7th day), the possibilities to get an accurate result are increasing, but don’t take it as a rule because as we’ve already said your bodies are different and unfortunately not all of you can get a such result exactly in the 7th day.

However, as there are so many women who have taken a home pregnancy test in the 7th day and have got a correct result, we can conclude that the earliest moment to take a pregnancy test with the possibility to get an accurate result is the 7th day after ovulation(after the moment you think you have conceived).
