The Drano Pregnancy Test

Most women, once they find out they are pregnant, want to know the sex of their baby and they are interested in any story or tale which can tell whether they are carrying a baby boy or girl. One of those myths, which has been making the rounds for years, is the Drano Pregnancy Test.

It is believed that this test can determine the sex of an unborn child, but it hadn’t been proved yet; there are women who recommend it as an effective way to find out if you have a girl or a boy and women who don’t recommend it, saying that it doesn’t work and could be dangerous for your health.

The Drano Pregnancy Test is very easy to take, only 3 steps being necessary to follow :

  • collect your urine sample in a container (glass or glass jar) – it is indicated to use your first morning urine
  • put the 2 Crystal Drano tablespoons into the container
  • pour you urine sample on top of the Drano – it is indicated to have equal amounts of urine and Crystal Drano

This is practically all you have to do and then, when everything has mixed together, you can read the result by looking at what color it has turned in to. Normally, if the mixed substance acquires a dark brownish color in the first 10 seconds – the baby is a boy, but if nothing happens for at least 10 seconds – the baby is a girl; but there could be different colors: brown, black, dark blue – boy or clear, green, light blue – girl.

The biggest question is in fact that regarding the safety of the Drano Pregnancy Test. While other those gender prediction tests can be very funny, this test can be dangerous for a pregnant woman. The fumes which are produced by this product are intense and toxic to inhale and can cause potential harms to the mother or to the child. It is indicated to take this test outside because of those toxic fumes and also to wear gloves when you take it so the Drano doesn’t come into contact with your skin because it can hurt you.

As a conclusion it’s not indicated to take the Drano Pregnancy Test for finding out the sex of your baby, not because it is not an accurate one, but because it can be harmful for you or for your baby and it’s recommended to avoid your exposure to such a risk.
