Most women decide to take a pregnancy test when their period’s missing, but there are also many of them who are too anxious to wait and want to take a pregnancy test before a missed period. In other words, they don’t believe in the accuracy of the pregnancy’s signs anymore and they choose to find out the truth by other methods. There are two ways to detect a pregnancy: clinic tests and home ones, but due to their advantages – the most chosen ones are home tests: they are cheaper and they allow women to find out if they are pregnant or not in the privacy of their own homes.
As you probably know, home tests’ instructions indicate you to take it the day you have missed your period; but what if you don’t have any missed period and you simply want to find out earlier, without expecting it? That’s why one of the most frequent women’s questions is: “which is the proper moment to take a pregnancy test before missed period?”.
First of all, you could follow the doctors’ recommendation and take it two weeks after ovulation (which means two weeks after the moment you think you have conceived), but for most women this is a long waiting time and they could already have a missed period until then. So for most of them the question would be: “which is the earliest moment to take a pregnancy test before a missed period?”.
There isn’t a fixed date, generally accepted, regarding the earliest day to take a pregnancy test because every woman’s body is different and acts differently. To better understand which this moment could be, you should know how these home tests work, which is very simple: they have to detect the presence and levels of the pregnancy hormone in a woman’s body, hormone which appears in her body of course only when she gets pregnant. But you have to know that it’s produced by the placenta only after the implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterine wall, implantation which does not occur until 6 days after ovulation. Therefore, as this hormone is not in your body in those 6 days, it’s useless to take a pregnancy test because it will surely give you a negative result, which could be a false one.
As a conclusion, you can get an accurate result even though you are taking the pregnancy test before a missed period. The earliest moment you can take it is the 7′th day after the moment you think you have conceived, but this is not a rule; an actual rule could be: the more accurate you want the result the later you should take the test.

I went to an website about ovulation calendar & pregnacy tests. they told me to test 2 weeks after your ovulation date, well i couldnt wait so i went out & bought me an “First Respsone Early Pregnancy Test” took the test the same day this was 4 days before my missed period, & the results was NEGATIVE !
so i went on my computer & read up on some articles & many woman had the same problem as me. many said anytime urine isnt as good as the morning urine, so make sure you WAIT untill morning && try again on the day of your period !

I’m confused. My last period started nov 5th.i got all the prego symptoms. And today is dec 4th .and I started spotting pink then bleeding red only bout half a pad. And some small clots. I took a prego test 4 days ago and had a very faint positive test . Could I have been prego and not know it?

my boyfriend and I had sex about almost two weeks ago and i suddenly had an awful lowerback pain, nausea, my breasts are sore. i have to take constant trips to the restroom, very exhausted most of the time. cant get comfortable when i go o bed and even when i sit on chairs is the same, perfume and my fav food makes me sick. my stomache looks swollen as i have a very petite build. i am also very irratated and moody most of the time. i did do a pregnancy test last night and it said negative, my period is due on the 26th. should i wait a couple more days and take another test or wait for my period. also he is 98% fertile and we have had sexual intercourse 3 times in the past two weeks. no protection was used and i am not on the pill either. me and my husband had sex on my most fertile days,and its past 13 days.Ive been getting all the signs like tiredness,extreme nausea,swollen nipples.And today I took a hpt and it showd -ve,but after an hour i saw a faint line showing probably pregnant or will it be that my hcg levels are too low that the line came late and very faint?.My periods are to come in 4 days, but iam too mch anxious to wait till i miss my period.can the faint line after an hour be an evapouration line? bt i have all the symptoms also.somebdy pls help me, should i take a blood test,will the blood test result be accurate even before the missed periods?

I’ve had 3 children and I waited with my first 2 until after I missed my period before I took any tests. Waiting that full 28 days showed me a very convincing positive sign. With my 3rd child I had a negative result 7 days after ovulation and then again at 12 days after. At about 25 days into my usual cycle I had a little spotting and thought my period was about to start but nothing ever came of it, so 2 days later I took another test and bingo….a strong positive sign. It’s EXTREMELY hard to wait when you’re either wanting, or hoping not, to be pregnant. But, it really is best to just wait. And if you are still having a period but have other symptoms, I suggest taking another test, going in to see a gyn or midwife, or contact a pregnancy alternatives center who usually offer tests for free and give resources on next step options.
I missed a period and i then took a pregnancy test which showed a negative result… i waited a further two weeks and then used a digital pregnancy test and the result was “Not Pregnant” after another week had passed i decided to go to my G.P. and guess what I was pregnant!(Six weeks)So my advice is to go see your G.P. if there is any doubt.

i am trying to get pregnant again (i have 3 already), had sex about 7days ago which is when i was ovulating had some indigestion, alot of constipation, some cramping, moodier than normal but hard to tell as im bipolar 2 and borderline personality disorder, my boobs dont hurt yet but veins are up and areola looks a lil darker really wanna take a test but i know it will say negative due my period in a wk may take 1 friday.
My last period was 28th of June, Me and my partner tried really hard this month, up to 3 times a day over four days i thought would be my ovulation day. I took a test 3 days ago (26th of july) and it came back negative. needless to say i was heartbroken. Hi. Could really do with some advise. I feel pregnant as have all the usual signs. Sickness, tiredness, cramping, bloating. My last period was 11th July so this means today is 28th day of my cycle. My period began on Aug 6th but was scheduled to begin Aug 10th. It ended up ending on Aug 10th. I had sex on Aug 16th and for the past week have been having some stomach issues. I’m constantly going to the bathroom with diarrhea and have been very gassy. I also randomly feel nauseous to the point that any food, greasy or healthy, sounds disgusting to me. Based on online calculators I would be 2-3 weeks if I am pregnant. This sounds a tad early for symptoms to me but I’ve read about women just feeling pregnant almost instantly. Should I wait until my next period should start or is it highly unlikely I’m experiencing symptoms of pregnancy and am just sick?
Susan: The way the abortion pill works is that you pretty much lose the baby and it all falls out like a heavy period. If the chemical is still in your system it would make some sense for a faint positive during the period like abortion.
I’m 27, I haven’t missed my period yet but I have a lot symptoms of being pregnant. Im freaking out big time! we have been trying for a baby & I used a pregnancy test 6 days prior to my missed period, the test was positive ( Thursday 29th Sept). I then did 4 more using different brands & they were all positive. I then went to the doctors for a blood test (saturday 1st oct) & my HCG level was 50, He said that I have to wait for my period because it may be a chemical pregnancy! Im so worried & scared that I will get my period, Im trying to stay calm but its very hard to. Ive just done my 7th pregnancy test & the positive came up staright away & isnt faint. Im praying that all is ok!
