How soon can I take a pregnancy test?

As we all know, women are very curious and anxious by nature, but when it comes to suspecting they could be pregnant, they become even more anxious to find out the truth. Nowadays, they don’t have to wait for pregnancy signs, because they now have the possibility to find out much earlier and due to the pregnancy tests. Although there are two types of tests, most of them choose to take a home one because it’s cheaper and because it offers them the possibility to take it and discover the truth in the intimacy of their own homes – but also because they generally have some very important features.

As we’ve already said, there is a normal impatience – first of all because an early prenatal care is crucial for their and their babies’ health, therefore they ask themselves: How soon can I take a pregnancy test? This is a very frequent question and the answer is not as easy as it seems because they would like to know how soon they can take it in order to get an accurate result!

First of all you, have to know that for the most precise result (the moment doctors recommend to take the test) is 2 weeks after ovulation, (the day you think you have conceived). For a precise result, you can also follow the test’s instructions and take it the day you have missed your period, but that if you have a missed period. Anyway, you have to know that there isn’t an established date because every woman’s body is different and acts differently.

Although there is not a fixed date(generally accepted) for the soonest moment you can get an accurate result, there still is a certain period during which you will surely get a negative result(which can mean a false one). For a better understanding, you should know how these tests work, it’s very simple: they have to detect the hCG in a woman’s body, hCG which appears only when she gets pregnant. But, from biological causes, this hormone does not appear the first 6 days after conception(so it’s useless to take a pregnancy test in this period because it will surely give you a negative result even if you are pregnant).

As a conclusion, the answer for the question: “How soon can I take a pregnancy test?” could be the 7′th day after ovulation, which means the 7′th day after the moment you think you have conceived, but don’t forget: do not to take this as a rule, because your body is unique and can react by producing this hcG later than the others’; to be sure – just take another test after a few days.

This helps me a lot, but I do have some question still. I know for sure that I have ejaculated when I was with my partner. She was on her period that day, so is there still a possibility that she can become pregnant? The other is, is the 7th day a reasonable time to test?

Juan, the best thing to find out is to take a pregnancy test.
The 7′th day should be the first day you start to test out; but ejaculation day is not the same as conception day.

    re-test more often.
