Irrespective of their wishes, most women are impatient to find out if they are pregnant or not. Of course that, depending on their wishes, women can act differently : those who want to have a baby are excited and their impatience doesn’t cause stress (it can actually be pretty sweet), but if the desired result is a negative one the stress can seriously affect them.
Definitely, when it comes to testing if they are pregnant or not, most women feel uneasy to see a doctor and, believe it or not, there are women who give up and prefer to wait and see what happens. But nowadays you don’t have to wait and if you are a little shameful- you don’t have to see a doctor. With the progresses in technology, you can now find out if you are pregnant or not from your own home. Depending on the type of the test you use, you can find out the result before you have even missed your period.
But now..the question is: How early to take the pregnancy test? Well, the answer depends on different things like the type of the test you are using or on your body and how it reacts to the hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). Actually this hormone (which is known as the pregnancy hormone too) is the response to the question: “How does a pregnancy test work?” And the same hormone can tell us how early can we test ..
For a better understanding and for the answer of the question „How early?”, you should know what hCG is and what is its role. Well, as we know, there are two possible way to detect a pregnancy: blood or urine tests. Of course, home pregnancy tests are based on the urine. These tests attempt to detect the presence and lower levels of the hCG. The pregnancy hormone is one which appears in a woman’s urine once she gets pregnant. So if the test detects the presence of this hormone in a woman’s urine that means she is certainly pregnant.
Definitely the urine tests are not as fast as the blood tests, but they have almost the same certainty. Most doctors recommend to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after ovulation. But you can also take it and get a positive test result seven days after ovulation, because the hCG is not produced until the implantation, and the implantation does not occur before six-twelve days after ovulation.
As a conclusion, we can say that you can have the earliest response 7 days after the ovulation but the most reliable response won’t come until 2 weeks from the ovulation.
