If you have been trying for a baby, or have had unplanned unprotected sex, the wondering about whether you are pregnant or not can be all consuming. Most women wait for the time when they can do an at home pregnancy test, whether early using a sensitive one, or around the time of a missed period for better accuracy. However a missed period is not the only physical sign a woman can have that means she may be pregnant. There are other early pregnancy symptoms but sometimes it can be hard to know exactly what you are looking for, and how likely is it to mean you could be pregnant. This article takes a look at an alternative to judging early pregnancy symptoms yourself, the free online pregnancy test.

Early pregnancy symptoms

As already mentioned one of the key physical signs of pregnancy a woman notices is a missed period, but there are others, some starting even earlier than that. It is important to understand though, that while a number of signs will be listed below, women are all different, some may experience many or all of them, some might have only one or two early pregnancy symptoms. Also some may have very clear and strong signs whereas others have them to varying degrees. It can even change in the same women, some signs going away others coming in, some fade, some get stronger. Common early pregnancy symptoms include;

  • Implantation bleeding – some women have some light spotting when the implantation of the fertilized egg into the uterus lining occurs. Some think it is a light or unusual period but light spotting or implantation bleeding looks different, pink or brown in color and is very small.
  • Breast changes – some have tenderness, swelling, pain when touched.
  • Cramps – Some women feel some cramping in the early weeks that is similar to period cramps.
  • Craving foods – Some women get food cravings, some do not.
  • Fatigue – with all the changes your body is making you can feel very tired or fatigued in the first trimester.
  • Basal body temperature is higher – While a woman can have an elevated basal body temperature during ovulation anyway, if the temperature rise stays up this is a sign of pregnancy.
  • Vomiting and nausea – This can be a problem for many women and can happen anytime not just the morning. Sometimes certain previously non-offensive odors can now set it off with your heightened sense of smell.
  • Urinating more often – The increase in size of the uterus plus the hormones can make you feel as if your bladder is full so you urinate more frequently.
  • Nipple change – the color of the area around the nipple called the aureola can darken.
  • Moodiness – Because of the hormone changes you may be having mood swings and feeling stressed more easily.
  • Headaches – Again the hormone level changes can cause headaches in some women.

What is a free online pregnancy test?

A free online pregnancy test is a tool women can use to see if there is a possibility they are pregnant. You can find several online and they vary in what information they need, but generally they will ask you questions about your ovulation and menstruation cycle, when you had unprotected sex and possibly how often you have had unprotected sex, and then about physical signs you may be experiencing. It is not a guarantee in any way of pregnancy, it just looks at your answers and at the end tells you what the possibility is, and after taking one you are usually advised to take a home test and to see your doctor anyway. But a free online pregnancy test can help you sort through all those early pregnancy symptoms that may be confusing you. Some examples of questions you may have to answer include;

  1. When was the first day of your last normal period?
  2. Do you have a regular menstrual cycle?
  3. When did you ovulate?
  4. What day do you think you conceived?
  5. Have you had other times of unprotected sex apart from that day?
  6. Have you been sick or had nausea?
  7. Have you felt more tired than usual?
  8. Have you been feeling bloated or noticed some weight gain?
  9. Are your breasts more tender, feel heavy, or sore?
  10. 10. Do you need to urinate more often than you used to?
