Looking at Pregnancy Tests

Pregnancy tests whether done at home or with your doctor or at a clinic all look for the same hormone, sometimes called the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG. There are two types of tests that can be done to look for this hormone in  a woman, a blood test or a urine test. Home pregnancy tests will look for hCG in your urine, but a doctor or clinic can do either a urine test or a blood test. Many women turn to home pregnancy tests first because they are affordable, if done correctly highly accurate, and convenient. Once a woman has had a positive on a home test, or if she has done several tests that have said negative but she has missed at least one period and believes she is pregnant, he should then have a confirmed test from her doctor.
