Period late and negative pregnancy test – a frequent situation
So far, women have thought that a missed period, or even a late one is a sign of pregnancy. It is fairly understandable why they were trusting those “natural” signs – because there wasn’t any other way to find out if they were pregnant or not. Fortunately, nowadays women have not only one, but two accurate possibilities to find out the truth: clinic pregnancy tests and home ones; due to their advantages, the home ones are the most demanded.
When can a pregnancy test give an accurate result?
Most women, when they want to check a possible pregnancy, choose the home pregnancy tests because they are cheaper than the clinic ones and they offer them the possibility to find out if they are pregnant or not in the privacy of their own homes. But after the decision to take a home test, they should also decide when to take it because there is no doctor who could tell them; therefore one of the most frequent questions is: “When can a pregnancy test be taken so that it can give an accurate result?”.
HCG pregnancy tests
The hCG, technically called human chorionic gonadotropin, is a hormone which appears in a woman’s body only when she gets pregnant or when she takes some medicines which contain it, like: anti-Parkinson’s medicines, anti-convulsives, some diuretics or some tranquilizers. This hormone, also known as the, is produced by the placenta after a fertilized egg implants in the uterine lining, implantation which does not occur until 6 days after ovulation.
